Work, Reimagined: Startup-Inspired Flexibility by AEDI DB

At District 8, AEDI Design Bureau crafts a workspace shaped by the fluid needs of today’s businesses—where adaptability is no longer a luxury—it’s a necessity. “District 8 embraces “hot desking”—offices without assigned desks, where employees can work from anywhere. Our multifunctional, adaptive interiors support this fluid style, allowing seamless transitions between different work modes and tasks,” says Eko Priharseno, Founder and Design Director AEDI Design Bureau. It became AEDI’s design solution to support the client’s dynamic, startup-driven workflow, where flexibility and mobility are essential.

The project was conceived around a singular, forward-thinking idea: startup-inspired flexibility, unfolded as a thoughtful translation of workflow into spatial form. Long communal tables serve as touchpoints for work, informal meetings, and spontaneous conversations—encouraging the kind of fluid interaction that often sparks new ideas. These open areas are balanced with quieter rooms designed for focused discussions and private calls, allowing teams to shift seamlessly between collaboration and concentration.

Recognizing that work doesn’t always conform to a nine-to-five schedule, AEDI introduced warm, relaxed corners throughout: a kitchen outfitted for casual catch-ups, lounge areas that blur the line between work and rest. These elements lend the space a sense of domestic ease, fostering a workplace culture that values comfort, well-being, and community.

Working closely with MOIEhaus, the studio curated furnishings that reflect both clarity and warmth. Each piece was chosen not just for its visual appeal, but for its design value and functionality—supporting the way people work and move. The result is an environment that feels thoughtful and fluid, able to adapt with its users over time.
