S H Y H A U S architecture and interior was conceived as a thoughtful response to the unique needs of our introverted clients. Our goal is to make space that do more than welcome—that can gently embrace those who call them home, offering a quiet sense of belonging.

The design embraces a harmonious play of mono materials of raw concrete, travertine and solid wood creating a serene backdrop that contrasts beautifully with the strong architectural lines that define the space.

The interior, while understated, optimizes every inch with a maximal layout. Iconic furnishings, chosen for both their form and comfort, anchor the design—offering a space that feels both engaging and thoughtfully composed.

Creating a hobby room is about crafting a space that functions well yet feels deeply personal. Here we share some hints that we’ve picked up from Blue Note 🙂 :

1. Smart Storage
Your hobbies tell your story, so let them be part of the room’s character. Use storage that doesn’t just hide things but showcases them thoughtfully. Shelving and cabinets should feel like part of the design, giving everything a place without feeling cluttered.

2. Comfortable Seating
Seating should reflect how you relax. Choose pieces that feel inviting and worn in—whether it’s a vintage chair or a soft, low sofa. The goal is to create a space where you can unwind effortlessly, where comfort takes center stage.

3. Embrace the Eclectic
Don’t aim for perfection—let your hobbies shape the room naturally. Combine old and new elements, mixing different styles and textures to give the room a sense of history and character. There’s beauty in a space that feels collected over time rather than meticulously curated.

4. Curated Chaos

The creation of Blue Note presented by Eko Priharseno at the 2024 @thecoloursofindonesia event, was more than an architectural feat; it was a story woven from the threads of memory, music, and materiality.

Tasked with transforming an asymmetrical, curved space with a limited two-meter entrance, Eko embraced the challenge of designing a room that would feel informal, unrestrained by the conventions of symmetry or a strict color palette.

The goal was to create something imperfectly perfect, a room alive with character and comfort.

In this sixth iteration of @thecoloursofindonesia ,Eko sought to balance modernity with nostalgia. His design ethos took root during countless road trips across Java and Bali, where he encountered traditional homes made from woven bamboo, earthen plaster, and rustic wood.

These homes, simple yet profoundly grounded in their surroundings, spoke of a beauty that didn’t rely on grandeur but on the authenticity of their materials.

This philosophy became the backbone of the Blue Note hobby room, where the understated complexity of these inspirations was translated into contemporary design.
