The questions come from the needs of the residents to balance their connection with work/school place, family, and their personal needs. The Casa Objet house, accomplished with the architect firm, Biroe, provides answers to that need through a home that boasts casual and informal attitudes. One of the ways to achieve this is by considering a social integration space in the house vigorously. The priority integration spaces for this particular family mean the kitchen, living room, and family room. These spaces are key to connecting the house between floors, between indoor and outdoor, and between different functions.

For example, we designed a kitchen warehouse behind the kitchen system and connected the dining table to the kitchen island with a T-shape layout. This arrangement blends the people in the area even though each is doing different activities. That reason also directs some of the furniture decisions in the living room. Such as the low back sofa that doesn’t restrict the social flow between the living room and the kitchen, and provides an additional casual “sitting” place on the backrest.

Cocooned inside a U-shape sofa, the living room is an ecosystem of comfort that remains private. Creating a place of its own despite the open layout. An open layout always demands constant push and pull between interior and architectural elements because however much space people need, people always require a degree of privacy. We exercised several camouflaging treatments to cater to this needs, such as the extruded wall of the living room to conceal some view to the front door, the kitchen storage, and the window in rooms upstairs that opens to the second skin of the house. The overall privacy of the house creates a subspace that allows a harmonious connection of people who live in Casa Objet to their private social life and each of their passions.

Seen as a refreshing work, the Casa Objet house is elaborately covered in CASA  Magazine Indonesia in its December 2023 edition.

Objects of Desire: Volume 2.0

Is a study in intention and timelessness, inviting us to reconsider the objects we surround ourselves with—not merely as decorative gestures, but as meaningful extensions of our lived experience

At the heart of this narrative is the subtle elegance of waste travertine—a material imbued with both sustainability and quiet sophistication. Its muted tones and organic veining speak of restraint and refinement.

Through this collection, Eko Priharseno explores the sculptural possibilities of utility, presenting a series of table lamps, wall lights, and coffee tables that blur the line between art and function.

Each form is a carefully considered interplay of material and light, designed to resonate with the rhythms of the spaces they inhabit.

This master bathroom at Casa Pari underwent a complete transformation, stripping away its original materials to make room for an entirely new identity. The redesign began with the client’s fondness for a mono material—travertine—a classic choice with a quiet, enduring charm, forming a cohesive canvas for the space.

We paired this timeless material with modern details and mid-century influences, creating an atmosphere that feels both nostalgic and contemporary.

To break its visual uniformity, we introduced a bold marble basin, a deliberate contrast that adds depth and intrigue. Walnut veneer, shaped with subtle concave detailing, brings warmth and tactility, balancing the room’s structured lines with a sense of invitation.

The interplay of classical lines and unexpected material choices creates a subtle tension—and brought that emotional resonance.

We want to achieve a functional space that feels thoughtful, layered, and deeply personal—a space that lingers in the memory as much as it serves its purpose.

When iconic pieces meet functional forms, Casa Pari is not a physical setting but a meaningful extension of the client’s world - the space transcends the aesthetic, becoming a thoughtfully crafted solution that merges style with purpose.

Here, design takes on the role of problem-solver, refining each element for spatial efficiency and emotional engagement.

Iconic pieces like the Get Back Sofa by Poltrona Frau, designed by Ludovica Palomba, and the classic Womb Lounge Chair by Knoll, designed by Eero Saarinen in 1946, with its distinctive, cocoon-like silhouette, offers a sense of refuge and ease, embodying mid-century innovation.
